  • BBQ spatula – long handle
  • Nonstick fry pan
  • Tongs

Instructions

  1. BBQ: Preheat BBQ and make sure it is cleaned down with a wire brush. Once the BBQ is heated bring the temperature down to medium heat. Remove burgers from the pack, peel off the paper and place onto the BBQ grill. This is when you need to have patience because it is a similar process to cooking a steak on a BBQ. You really want to develop a delicious, caramelised crust on the burger so do not be tempted to continuously flip it! Another reason is to allow the crust to form so that when you use your BBQ spatula to flip them over the burger isn’t still stuck to the grill – the crust allows a clean flip! To make sure your burger is cooked allow 5-6 mins per side and turn twice. The juices should run clear, and it will be firm to touch but if you want to be absolutely sure it is fully cooked then cut one in half to check it isn’t still raw in the centre.
  2. Pan Fry: Preheat fry pan med-low heat. Add a small amount of oil and then gently place the burgers into the pan. Just like cooking burgers on the bbq you need to have patience so that you can create a delicious, caramelised crust. Allow 5-6 mins per side and flip only a couple of times to ensure the burger crust develops well. To make sure your burger is cooked the juices should run clear, and it will be firm to touch. If you want to be absolutely sure it is fully cooked, then cut one in half to check it isn’t still raw in the centre.
  3. Air Fry: Coat the air fryer basket with a little cooking oil spray then place the burgers into the basket. Cook 200C for 6 mins then turn them over and cook a further 6-8 mins until browned and thoroughly cooked.
