Tips and Tricks
- All ham products once opened will last up to 3-5 days in the fridge as long as they are stored separate to other products.
- If you want to keep it in the packaging it came in then the twin packs can be folded onto each other once opened for easy storage. The larger packs will be ok with the lid placed back down over the base of the packaging as ham doesn't need to be completely air tight.
- Plastic storage containers are ok but it is a good idea to put a date on them from when the product was opened.
- To freeze place any leftover ham into snap lock bags and clearly label and date, it will keep up to 3 months in the freezer. You can place all unopened packaged ham straight into the freezer. To thaw place the ham in the fridge overnight to allow it to defrost gently to maintain its structural integrity as much as possible.
