American BBQ Pork Popper Platter for a crowd

Our delicious American BBQ Pork Poppers are sure to be very popular with the young ones but adults will also find them irresistible! Here we have created a well balanced platter with a delicious caramelised onion, apple and sour cream dip.

Ingredients

  • 1 pack Hellers American BBQ Pork Poppers
  • Pretzels + Popcorn
  • Sliced carrots
  • Sliced red, yellow peppers
  • Sliced cucumbers
  • Strawberries or grapes, blueberries
  • Green goddess dressing - see recipe on our site
  • Caramelised Onion, Apple and Sour Cream Dip:
  • 3 white onions peeled and sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp plain oil
  • 3 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Intensity seasoning by Rum and Que
  • 250ml sour cream
  • 1/2 cup apple sauce to swirl

Method

  1. To make the dip start by slowly cooking the onions in a fry pan over medium heat [with a lid on] with the butter and oil for 5-8 mins until the onions are starting to soften. Add the brown sugar and Intensity seasoning and slowly cook out without the lid for a further 5-8 mins. The onions should be soft and a light golden colour - set aside to cool. Once cooled fold through the sour cream and place into a serving bowl, finish by swirling the apple sauce through to serve

  3. Place green goddess dressing into a serving bowl

  4. To arrange place the 2 dips onto a large serving platter and decorate with all the various vegetables, fruit, snacks and delicious American bbq poppers
