Beef & Porter Sausages w Onion Gravy

This is a great base dish that can be used many ways – in a hotdog bun, with a side of mash and your favourite vegetables, with a delicious savoury rice dish…its so versatile and so yummy!

Beef & Porter Sausages w Onion Gravy

Ingredients

  • 2 packs Hellers Porter Angus Beef sausages
  • 50g butter
  • 4 white onions peeled and sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 tbsp Rum and Que Porters Seasoning
  • 2 sprig fresh rosemary
  • 500ml fresh beef stock
  • To serve: hot dog buns or mash potato and vegetables....

Method

  1. Preheat oven 180C
  2. Start by searing the sausages in a large fry pan with a little oil over medium heat or on the BBQ until evenly browned. Remove and place into a large oven proof dish or lined foil tray
  3. In a large fry pan add the butter, onions and rosemary and gently cook over medium low until tender, approx. 10 mins. Add the porter spice and garlic and cook a further 2 minutes.
  4. Pour in the stock and allow it to come up to a gently simmer. Pour over the sausages and place in the oven for 15-20 mins
  5. Serve up to a crowd with a side of hot dog buns and condiments or a delicious creamy mash potato and seasonal vegetables or salad
