Ingredients
- 500g cream cheese softened
- 250g sour cream
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp oregano
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 400g jar pasta sauce
- 2 cup pizza cheese
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan
- 50g Hellers garlic and paprika salami chopped into quarters
- 1/2 cup runny honey
- 6 shots of tabasco sauce
- Fresh basil leaves chopped
- Optional: chili flakes
- To serve: garlic bread or crusty warm buttered ciabatta
Method
- Preheat oven 200C
- Place the cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, oregano and salt into a medium bowl and using a spatula combine till smooth. Spread the mixture evenly over an oiled deep sided ovenproof pan or dish approx. 25cm diameter
- Pour the pizza sauce over the creamy base evenly
- Sprinkle evenly with pizza cheese and parmesan
- Cover the top with cut slices of salami and then place in the oven for 15 mins. Check halfway through to make sure the salami isn't burning. This is a good time to add the garlic bread to heat through
- Remove both from the oven and turn on the grill allow to heat up. Keep the garlic bread somewhere warm and then place the dip under the grill for only 1-3 mins, keep an eye on it as it can burn quickly
- Combine the honey and the tabasco into a small bowl or jug and heat in the microwave for 20-30 secs until hot.
- Decorate the pizza dip with basil and chili flakes and drizzle with hot honey - make sure you have some hot honey on the side
- Place on table for your guests to enjoy with a basket of garlic bread for dipping
