Crunchy Pork Katsu Sando

We are obsessed with eating our Crunchy Katsu Pork Burger in a ‘Sando’ [a term for sandwich in Japan…and also a Pokémon character!]. We have kept it simple and classic with creamy mayo coleslaw, tonkatsu sauce and of course thick crustless ‘white death’ loaf bread!

  • 2 Hellers frozen crunchy katsu burgers
  • 1-1.5 cups shredded white cabbage
  • 1 spring onion finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup kewpie mayo
  • Tonkatsu sauce
  • 4 slices of 1 inch thick cut crustless white loaf bread or Japanese milk bread loaf

Method

  1. Cook the frozen katsu burgers to the pack instructions

  2. Toss the shredded cabbage, spring onions and mayo together till combined

  3. Smear the bottom slice of bread with tonkatsu sauce and the top slice of bread with mayo

  4. To assemble cut the katsu burgers to fit the slice of bread or keep them whole. Place the burger onto the bottom slice of bread smeared with tonkatsu sauce, top with creamy coleslaw and then place on the mayo smeared slice. Eat with your hands and enjoy!
