Hellers Smashed Double Angus Burger

We love burgers and we know you do too…here is our take on the viral smashed burger, but guess what…we’ve already smashed it for you !!

Hellers Smashed Double Angus Burger

Ingredients

  • 2 pack Hellers Smashed Angus Burgers
  • 2 burger buns sliced through and buttered on both cut sides
  • 8 cheese slices
  • 1/4 white onion peeled, finely diced
  • 1 lettuce leaf roughly chopped
  • 8-10 pickles
  • Burger mayo
  • American mustard
  • Optional:
  • Fries and your favourite mayo and sauces

Method

  1. Place the finely diced white onion into a small bowl and cover with cold water. Allow the onion to soak for 10 mins minimum while you prepare your burgers to reduce the bitterness. Drain and place on a paper towel to remove access water before using
  2. In a large fry pan over medium heat or BBQ, fry the burger buns buttered side down till caramelised and set aside
  3. Fry or BBQ the smashed burger patties over med-high heat until thoroughly cooked. Add 2 slices of cheese on top of each burger and allow to melt for 30 secs or so. Turn the heat off at this stage so not to burn the cheese or burger
  4. To assemble smear the fried burger lid with mustard. Now smear the bottom bun with burger mayo, add chopped lettuce and then 2 burgers patties. Sprinkle with diced onion and add pickles then place the burger lid on top
  5. Serve with a side of pickles, your favourite fries and condiments
