Smashed Potato Pizza Combo Crowd Pleaser

Smashed Potato Pizza Combo Crowd Pleaser


  • 1 x box of gourmet potatoes we recommend Oakley's
  • Olive Oil
  • 1 x twin pack Hellers Crafty Cooks Pizza Combo
  • 1 punnet cherry tomatoes cut in half
  • 300g pizza cheese
  • To Serve:
  • 3 spring onions finely chopped
  • Aioli or your favourite flavored mayo


  1. Preheat oven 180C
  2. Place the potatoes into a large pot and cover with cold water. Bring to the boil and cook until just tender - be careful not to overcook them. Drain through a colander and arrange on a chopping board to allow them to dry for a few minutes
  3. Drizzle a generous amount of olive oil onto a lined baking tray. Then place the potatoes onto the tray and using the back of a large wooden spoon gently press down on each potato to create the 'smashed' effect. They should be flattened in appearance. We used baby gourmets but the larger gourmets also work well in this recipe. Drizzle with a little more olive oil and a good sprinkle of salt and place into a hot oven until golden and crispy - approx. 15-20 mins
  4. Remove from oven and spread the crispy smashed potatoes directly onto a greased ovenproof shallow serving dish. Sprinkle with pizza combo, cut cherry tomatoes and cheese and grill for several minutes until the cheese is bubbling and the pizza combo is crispy
  5. To serve place the serving tray straight on the table, sprinkle with spring onions and a side of aioli - let the crowd help themselves!
