The Classic Texas Burger

The secret to this classic Texas burger’s incredible taste is the mustard onions… You won’t ever eat them plain again after trying this recipe!

What you will need

  • 4 Hellers Burger Patties
  • 4 burger buns
  • 8 cheese slices
  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • 4 tbsp american yellow mustard
  • Dill pickle chips
  • BBQ sauce
  • Aioli

Method

  1. Combine the onions and mustard with a spoon in a small bowl and set aside
  2. Cook your burger patties on a BBQ or fry pan over medium high heat until thoroughly cooked. Add 2 slices of cheese and set aside to keep warm
  3. Cut the burger buns in half smear with bbq sauce and place cut side down onto the BBQ or fry pan and cook for about a minute until caramelised. remove and place onto a wooden board
  4. To assemble smear the cut side of the lid with aioli. Place the burger on the bottom half of the bun, top with mustard onions and a generous amount of dill pickles. Pop the lid on and repeat for the remaining burgers
  5. Serve with extra dill pickle chips
