Halloweener Mummies

Super cute and so easy these halloweener mummies will have everyone smiling …just don’t look them in the eye!

Halloweener Mummies

Ingredients

  • 20 cheese kransky, cheerios or Spanish chorizo
  • 4 sheets ready rolled puff pastry
  • 1 egg lightly beaten
  • white and black fondant for eyes [or just use mustard sauce dotted]
  • american mustard
  • tomato sauce

Method

  1. To make the eyes roll out the white fondant and cut out very small circles. Then place a small flat dot of black fondant into the middle, set aside to dry out.
  2. Preheat oven fan bake 200C
  3. Place the pastry sheets onto a board and using a small sharp knife cut the pastry into 1cm-thick strips. Lightly brush the pastry with a little egg.
  4. Wrap 1-2 pastry strips around each cheese kransky sausage to resemble bandages, leaving a little gap at one end for the face. Trim and discard excess pastry. Place onto a the lined baking tray. Repeat with remaining sausages, pastry and egg
  5. Lightly brush the sausage pastries with more egg and then place into the hot oven for 20-25 mins until lightly golden and the pastry is cooked
  6. Once cooked allow to cool slightly then using a little tomato sauce make 2 dots where the eyes will be placed. Top with fondant eyes and then place the Halloweener mummies onto a serving tray
  7. Serve with tomato sauce and topped with a mustard sauce decoration to create a spider web
