New Yorker Porker Meatball Pizza

New Yorker Porker Meatball Pizza


  • 3 Hellers New Yorker Porker sausages
  • 1 thin pizza base
  • Pizza sauce
  • 50g grated smoked cheddar or pizza cheese
  • Fresh mozzarella cut into 8 slices
  • 1/4 red onion finely sliced
  • thyme leaves to garnish or fresh basil leaves
  • Extra virgin olive oil


  1. Preheat your oven to it's highest setting well in advance
  2. Remove the skin from the New Yorker Porkers and use your fingers to pinch them roughly into tiny meatballs. Place all the meatballs into a bowl and toss them in a large spoonful of pizza sauce
  3. Line a tray with baking paper or use a ceramic pizza tile
  4. Place the pizza base onto the tray or tile and then using a large spoon smear ½ cup pizza sauce liberally from the centre out leaving a 5cm pizza border
  5. Cover with red onion, grated smoked cheddar and sliced fresh mozzarella
  6. Dot the meatballs around the pizza with a little bit of extra sauce on top of each one
  7. Drizzle the pizza rim with olive oil and cook 8-10 mins until the cheese is golden and the meatballs are starting to caramelise
  8. To serve sprinkle over a few thyme leaves or basil leaves, cut into 6-8 slices and eat immediately
