Beef Burger

What you will need

  • 6 tbsp mayo
  • 1 tbsp American mustard
  • 1 tbsp ketchup/tomato sauce
  • 1 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • ¼ cup gherkins or bread & butter style pickles, finely chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely sliced
  • half a lemon, juiced
  • 4 Hellers quarter pounder burger patties
  • 1 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp American mustard
  • 4 burger buns, halved
  • ½ iceberg lettuce
  • 4 slices of American style cheese slices

Instructions

  1. Burger sauce - Mix all the ingredients together and set aside
  2. Cookin - Slice the red onion and squeeze over the lemon juice. Grill the quarter pounder burger patties in a fry pan, until charred on each side and nearly cooked through. Mix the ketchup and mustard together, and brush over each side of the patties and continue cooking on each side until cooked through. Keep the patties warm while you grill or toast the burger buns.
  3. To assemble - Place a generous dollop of burger sauce on the bottom of the burger bun. Top with a few iceberg lettuce leaves, the cooked quarter pounder pattie, a slice of cheese, and some sliced red onion. Spread the top of the burger with some more mayo and place on the top half of the burger bun. Serve with crisps or fries.
